I joined better yuma to help make yuma a better place for businesses to thrive and watch how our tax revenue is being spent.

I am proud to be associated with BY.ORG since its inception 2004. Our mission has kept its course to be advocates of the Yuma Community and a watchdog of our local government. We have been very successful in items such as reduced development fees, local preference, and more transparency within the City of Yuma, just to name a few.

I have been a member of BYO for the past 8 years. Being a member has not only helped me as an individual but has whole heartedly helped our sign industry in the Yuma community. The City a few years ago tried passing an ordinance that would not allow off-premise signs (billboards) in the B2 zone (Business). BYO came together and helped Del Outdoor fight the ordinance and we were able to work with the City and settle on an amended ordinance.

Our company has been a member of BetterYuma.org for over 15 years. The organization has worked to help focus the community on being business friendly and improving the Yuma community. As a new home builder in the city and county we have being able to collectively voice our concerns to the government agencies. We have found this to be a beneficial partnership.

During my 16 year tenure as executive director for the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce, one of the organizations I served was a founding member of BetterYuma.Org. BY.org accomplishments include issues concerning growth and development of commercial and residential construction. Our over site accountability of taxes, impact fees, codes, and regulations proved successful for businesses and taxpayers. The diversity of membership represents a large cross section of the Yuma community. The BetterYuma.Org board will continue to address the important issues facing Yuma.
